Fans in Los Angeles waited outside of Mann’s Chinese Theater for more than a month and a half, even though they didn’t know whether Episode II would even be shown there. The fans who camped out for weeks were often given free food by restaurants and were allowed to use bathrooms in local shops.

John Ratzenberger, who starred as the always-annoying Cliff Claven on Cheers, played Major Bren Derlin in the second Star Wars film. You might be able to catch a glimpse of him in the scene where the pilots are getting ready to leave the ice planet Hoth.
