The very first Star Wars figures were made by Kenner, and kids and collectors alike grabbed them up in great excitement. The first characters produced were Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, R2D2, C3PO, ObiWan Kenobi, Darth Vader, a Stormtrooper, one of the Sand People, a Death Squad Commander and Jawa. The figures sold for a mere $1.96 when they were first released.
