Random Star Wars Facts:

29. Did You Know: Luke’s Uncle Owen is actually Anakin’s stepbrother? Luke went to live with his Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, upon his father’s “death,” at Obi Wan’s urging. As we see in Star Wars: A New Home, Uncle Owen was always trying to keep Luke’s natural Jedi instincts at bay. While Uncle Owen strongly opposed Luke’s leaving Tatooine for the Imperial Academy, Aunt Beru encouraged Luke’s dream. Luke would finally get his wish of leaving Tatooine, but only after his aunt and uncle were murdered by Vader’s Stormtroopers.

63. Fast Fact: Obi Wan guides Luke to Dagoba to meet Jedi Master, Yoda, in The Empire Strikes Back. Yoda has been training Jedi for 800 years, but he doesn’t want to take Luke on as an apprentice. Why? He tells Luke and Obi Wan that Luke lacks patience, is angry and reckless, and he’s just not ready. Yoda also points out Luke is too old to be trained as a Jedi. Luke, however, is able to convince Yoda to take the chance on him.
