Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition Poster Set

When George Lucas re-released the Star Wars original trilogy movies, fans wanted to know, "what changed" since the original movies? Well, the posters did for one. These three posters were drawn as a triptych-or three separate pieces that make one complete image-by famed illustrator Drew Struzan, who has also done the art for the theatrical release posters for Episode I and Episode II. Interestingly enough, this made it so that there are characters and vehicles on the individual posters that don't necessarily appear in that particular film. The 1997 Special Edition--which started out as a special treat for Star Wars fans--ballooned into a major phenomenon as audiences worldwide thronged theaters to see the original trilogy on the big screen again. The set includes the following one-sided, 1-sheet posters: Version 'B' A New Hope, Version 'C' The Empire Strikes Back and Version 'D' Return of the Jedi. The Jedi poster has the original domestic release date of March 7; the opening was pushed back a week to March 14 because the first two films were playing so strongly.
