Random Star Wars Facts:

42. Fast Fact: Fans were so hyped about the release of Episode II: Attack of the Clones, they begin lining up in Seattle in January—five months before the film’s release date! Fans in Los Angeles waited outside of Mann’s Chinese Theater for more than a month and a half, even though they didn’t know whether Episode II would even be shown there. The fans who camped out for weeks were often given free food by restaurants and were allowed to use bathrooms in local shops.

55. Quick: How does Darth Vader’s suit keep him alive? Answer: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith will show Anakin’s transformation into the evil machine known as Darth Vader. Vader must wear the suit or else he will die. During a fierce battle with his one-time Jedi master Obi Wan, Anakin receives life-threatening injuries. In order to stay alive, he is equipped with iron lungs inside his suit. The only time Vader’s face is ever seen is when Luke helps him off with the mask in the end of The Return of the Jedi. However, Vader was able to take his mask off provided he was in his hyperbaric chamber, but even then he used machines to help him remove the mask, not wanting anyone to see his face.

Original Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition Theatrical Poster

This original one-sided theatrical poster for the Star Wars Trilogy Special Editions came out in late 1996 for the January opening of the Star Wars Special Edition on Jan. 31, 1997. This was supposed to be the only poster for the Special Edition releases, but George Lucas decided that he also wanted individual art posters for each movie, and hired artist Drew Struzan to do them. But the "Ingot Campaign" poster remained the overall umbrella, and was used by itself in many international territories. This is the first version of the Ingot poster. It uses the date of March 7 for the opening of Return of the Jedi. But because the previous two movies were so successful at the box office, the release date of Jedi was pushed a week to March 14. Part of the ingot design was used as box art for the recent release of the original trilogy on DVD.
