As we see in Star Wars: A New Home, Uncle Owen was always trying to keep Luke’s natural Jedi instincts at bay. While Uncle Owen strongly opposed Luke’s leaving Tatooine for the Imperial Academy, Aunt Beru encouraged Luke’s dream. Luke would finally get his wish of leaving Tatooine, but only after his aunt and uncle were murdered by Vader’s Stormtroopers.
